Could you describe your role within gbi?

"My role focuses on the design of building structures. I have had the opportunity to work on various projects, including primary schools, municipal pools, and even residential projects. My responsibilities include carefully selecting design elements, implementing structural and seismic capacity models. Beyond the technical aspects, my role involves collaborating with architects and helping them realize their vision while respecting the structural aspects of designing different installations."

What motivated you to work in the engineering consulting field, and how did you start your career in this sector?

"This sector offers a unique combination of technical and creative challenges while having a tangible impact on people's daily lives. From the beginning of my career, I was drawn to the idea of contributing to diverse projects and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The variety of projects, with the ability to juggle two to three of them simultaneously, creates a particularly stimulating work environment. This diversity constantly challenges me to take on new challenges while allowing me to explore different facets of engineering consulting. Working with private and public clients adds an extra dimension, allowing me to understand and meet the varied needs of our partners. It is this enriching dynamic that makes every day at gbi a captivating experience."

What does being a woman in engineering mean to you?

"In a field often characterized by female underrepresentation, it pushes me to challenge stereotypes and actively contribute to professional diversity. I was pleased to find upon joining gbi that I would be paired with an experienced engineer. This collaboration offered me valuable insight and practical advice. It's a beneficial approach that, I hope, will also help change the leadership dynamic by promoting inclusion and diversity to provide equal opportunities for all."

What are the most rewarding aspects of your work?

"Like many of my colleagues, what I find most rewarding about my work is probably seeing the finished product of our projects. Showing my loved ones the result of my work is a particularly special moment. It transcends plans and drawings to become a tangible reality. It's a way to share my passion with those close to me and to help them understand the significant contribution I make to each project. I feel a sense of pride not only for the projects I have the opportunity to collaborate on but also for those of my peers."

gbí in three words for you?

"Collaboration, balance, and competence."
