gbi, finalist at the 2021 Grands Prix du génie-conseil québécois

After winning two awards in 2020, gbi is a finalist at the 2021 Grands Prix du génie-conseil québécois. For nearly 20 years, this competition rewards and highlights the best projects and engineering expertise in Quebec.

Curé-Paquin School: Mechanical-Electrical Building category

The first project in Quebec—and the first primary school in Canada—to receive Zero Carbon Building© – Design certification from the Canada Green Building Council, the Curé-Paquin school is a flagship initiative for other school service centres.

gbi acted as the lead engineering contractor for building mechanical and electrical services and for energy conservation for the innovative design of this school, which promotes academic success and prioritizes comfort.

Parc Jean-Drapeau: Telecommunications and New Technologies category

Known worldwide thanks to the famous Formula 1 Grand Prix, Parc Jean-Drapeau welcomes millions of visitors from around the globe each year.

Teams of information technology experts from gbi were tasked with installing a fibre-optic network and electrical services as part of the move toward a “smart” city. This project contributes to the vitality of Montreal’s tourism industry and its international appeal.
