gbi is proud to announce that its project for the Curé-Paquin School has earned it a place among the three finalists in the ESTim Competition, sponsored by the Chambre de commerce de l’Est de Montréal, in the “Sustainable Development” category. We would like to congratulate our director, Maxime Boisclair, who presented the project to a jury on April 21st.
The Curé-Paquin School is the first building in Quebec to receive Zero Carbon certification from the Canada Green Building Council, in addition to receiving the Carbon-Neutral Building of the Year Award, and soon LEED v4 Gold (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification.
Working on this project was a unique opportunity to innovate in the areas of sustainable development and energy efficiency. The new Curé-Paquin School will serve as a reference for future school constructions in the areas of sustainable development and renewable energy. Moreover, we’ve begun to hear talk in school and engineering circles about gbi’s performance in the project. Several school centres and people from the education sector have contacted us for more information on this green school.
