What was your motivation to work in the field of consulting engineering, and how did you start your career in this sector ?

« From my first steps in this field, I was supported by a senior engineer, which reassured me a lot and strengthened my motivation. My first internship at university was a defining experience and I also benefited from mentoring which allowed me to progress quickly. The Joliette office, where I have been since my very beginnings, is particularly conducive to knowledge sharing and professional development. »

Can you share with us a professional of whom you are particularly proud since you joined gbi?

« An achievement that I am particularly proud of since joining gbi is the school construction project in Manawan. This project not only allowed me to contribute to the construction of important infrastructure, but also to significantly help the local indigenous community. By working on this project, I was able to better understand the challenges facing this community and establish valuable connections with its members.

I even had the opportunity to spend time on site as a site supervisor, which strengthened my commitment to this project and my connection to the community. »

Where do you see yourself in five years ?

« In five years, I still see myself at gbi, part of the Joliette team where mutual aid and proximity are essential values. My goal is to continue to evolve within the firm and reach the status of engineer. I also aspire to be more involved in exciting and challenging projects, thus contributing to my professional development and that of the company. »

What character traits or skills are particularly important for success in the field of consulting engineering ?

« First of all, the social aspect is crucial, because you need to be able to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. This involves the ability to collaborate with different profiles and take advantage of varied expertise. Understanding the needs and goals of other parties, putting yourself in their shoes and communicating effectively are key skills for completing complex projects and satisfying clients. »
