From a young age, Mathieu knew he wanted a career in science. Passionate about complex systems, he chose to specialize in building mechanics, a discipline that combines networks, control systems and multidisciplinary collaboration. After studying at the Université de Sherbrooke, punctuated by four internships in various fields, he took his first steps in consulting engineering, a path that turned out to be a natural choice.
His move to Montreal then gave him the chance to explore other facets of engineering, now working in production engineering plants. This varied experience allowed him to develop unique expertise and strengthen his desire to take on new challenges. It was in 2020, in the midst of uncertainty due to the pandemic, that he joined gbi.
From the start at gbi, Mathieu knew he was in the right place. His first project, the expansion of the La Fraternité school, allowed him to put his expertise into practice while collaborating with a dynamic and committed team. Since then, he has continued to leave his mark on major projects, including the renovation of the Centre Claude-Robillard, a significant and significant project for him.
“This project is a huge challenge, but also an immense source of pride. I am deeply touched that the client is asking for my supervision for the rest of the project. It is an invaluable recognition of my work,” he shares. At the same time, Mathieu also contributed to the development of Airsite software at gbi, a unique software at gbi that transforms construction site monitoring.
When asked to define gbi in three words, Mathieu answers without hesitation: “Competence, human and happy.” These values are reflected in every aspect of his work, whether in the realization and implementation of high-quality concepts, collaboration with stakeholders or the positive impact of projects on the community.
