It is with pleasure that we share with you a video from the Career Series of l'Association des firmes de génie-conseil Québec (AFG) in which our colleague Andrew Crossley had the chance to collaborate. This series aims to promote careers in consulting engineering through concrete projects.
We are proud to see our project with Bonneville Industries in images through this video. Congratulations to Andrew for participating in this series with AFG!
This modular multi-housing design project for Bonneville Industries includes 24 dwellings on four floors which were assembled in an underground parking lot. Module-to-module and module-to-foundation assembly techniques are a central point of the project in order to resist shearing and overturning forces caused by wind and earthquake forces. The challenge of attaching the modules to each other and to the foundations is that some faces of the modules are only accessible momentarily until the next module is installed.
This multi-dwelling unit offers durability equivalent to that of a traditional building, demonstrating the careful planning and integration of sustainable solutions without compromising the quality or robustness of the structure.
