This project involved the construction of a new acute care hospital with a capacity of 283 beds combined with an outpatient centre, replacing an existing hospital that had become too small to accommodate the region’s growing needs.
Among the challenges encountered were the major changes made to the emergency and intensive care department program, which was completely reprogrammed during the preparation of plans and specifications, according to the most recent standards of the emergency department management guide. Following that, electrical and mechanical services were designed according to the very specific features of the equipment models recommended by the hospital. The ventilation/air conditioning systems were designed as per standards and with energy recovery of waste heat from specialized medical equipment. In addition, a central chilled water network and a cooler and its components were connected to the emergency electrical network to serve this equipment in the event of a shutdown of the Hydro-Québec power grid.
We believe in our employee’s ability to help us create a world rooted in our values of continuous innovation, responsible management and sustainable development.
