Among the noteworthy characteristics of this project are: the design of a booster station in an underground chamber; the hydraulic analysis and the sector needs analysis to determine flow rates and pressures for each station; the need to keep the Ford and Marchand stations in operation during construction with temporary pumping systems; the intervention by divers in the drinking water tanks with the pump operating at the Marchand station to allow for the installation of a new ladder and to clean the tank; the design of the new pumping systems with variable speed pumps in order to save energy; the tank design that minimizes interventions in confined spaces, with stairs to go down the sections of the tank.
