Construc-Plus Vocational Centre
gbi was commissioned to produce plans and specifications for a new Professional Training Centre in Saint-Eustache with a total area of 8,950 m2, for this project carried out for the Commission scolaire Seigneurie-des-Mille-Îles (CSSMI) and the Commission scolaire Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier (CSSWL).

Characteristics
A fully geothermal building, with no greenhouse gas emissions.
Among the noteworthy features of this project are the many measures aimed at energy optimization, such as the use of geothermal energy paired with heat pumps for heating the air and the envelope, as well as for the production of domestic hot water; the use of radiant floors in all of the workshops; LED lighting with digital and automated control of light intensity (light sensors), etc.
Description
The building includes 5 specialized workshops (carpentry and joinery, concrete finishing, plumbing and heating, welding and assembly, commercial and residential painting), separate changing rooms and teachers’ offices for each workshop, an administration area with offices and a staff room, an assembly area and dining room, as well as 12 classrooms.
