The city of Repentigny’s Water Treatment Plant was commissioned in 1997. The treatment is a physical-chemical process, with anaerobic sludge digestion and rotary press dewatering. gbi participated in the two phases of the work at the Île Lebel WWTP for the city of Repentigny.
Construction of the water treatment plant and related wastewater facility structures (1985-1996)
gbi was commissioned by the Société Québécoise d’Assainissement des Eaux and by the city to carry out engineering work (plans and specifications as well as construction supervision) for the entire wastewater treatment facility, including 3 km of interceptors, eight pumping stations with control and telemetry from the WWTP, development of overflow structures, a 7-kilometre pressure pipe, the physical-chemical treatment station (a first in Quebec, the plant includes two anaerobic sludge digesters producing close to 2,200 m3 of biogas per day) and the outfall. gbi was responsible for the entire project management process, resident construction supervision, as well as the process, instrumentation and control and structural disciplines.
