Domaine-Vert-Nord School

Built in the heart of the new residential neighbourhood in Mirabel, the new Domaine-Vert-Nord elementary school covers an area of 5,700 m2 on one floor and includes 24 elementary classes and 4 preschool classes. It is a model for the learning environments of tomorrow.

Building on a child’s scale

This new eco-responsible building is a candidate for LEED® V4 Gold certification. Its innovative design incorporates the best electromechanical systems to ensure occupant comfort and features architecture that allows for teaching areas that are adapted to new teaching and learning methods.

For a sustainable development

To ensure energy efficiency and maximum comfort, the following systems were installed:

  • A geothermal system for thermal recovery in both summer and winter.
  • Air distribution by fan coils for heating and cooling.
  • Guaranteed comfort using boxes and coils for proper temperature control.
  • Water-to-water heat pump system connected to the geothermal network.
  • Fresh air supply unit with high-efficiency energy recovery.
  • Radiant floors.
  • Natural ventilation control for when weather conditions are favourable.
