The Montreal School Service Centre
The Montreal School Service Centre (MSSC) is a public organization that acts as an intermediary between the Ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement Supérieur (MEES) and schools, and that includes a total of 120 regular primary schools, 5 EHDAA schools (for students with disabilities or with adjustment or learning difficulties), 24 regular secondary schools, 8 EHDAA secondary schools, 3 regular primary and secondary schools, 4 EHDAA primary and secondary schools, 10 vocational training trade schools and 15 adult training centres.

Mandate description
The MSSC called on gbi to assess the budget allocation amount for special conditions for construction and/or expansion projects for twelve schools.
Specifically, these conditions concern natural constraints, municipal requirements, site constraints and land conditions, as well as public utility services.
gbi’s project management team coordinated analytical work progress for each of the following disciplines: civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and environment.
Present for our customers
The project management team supported the engineering teams by identifying their needs. It then analyzed all the documents made available by the client in order to highlight the technical elements that could be used to evaluate costs. In a context of varying complexity, especially for schools without sites (planned schools), the project management team succeeded in establishing a direct communication link with the client to understand their needs and lay the foundation for budgetary evaluation that could be applied to all schools.
Optimizing to save
The contribution of gbi’s management team was crucial to the success of the project by optimizing resources’ time and, consequently, project costs, and, more importantly, by respecting the issuance of deliverables to the MSSC’s satisfaction and within the very tight timeline it imposed.
