The traffic studies requested by our clients aim to assess the current situation and provide the safest and most effective alternatives for road users. These preliminary analyses are key to the commencement of transportation projects.
The project, which took place over a period of a few months, essentially consisted of producing a preliminary design study for the redesign of a 4.8 km portion of Route 335 in Saint-Lin-Laurentides.
The main goal of this study was to improve traffic flow in a very busy sector by adding left-turn lanes in both directions, reconfiguring certain intersections, adding or modifying traffic lights, upgrading driveway entrances to meet standards, upgrading lighting to meet standards and conducting a study for the construction of a traffic circle at the intersection of Route 158 and Route 335.
For the traffic study, solutions had to be found by gbi’s experts for several specific features. The following aspects had to be taken into consideration: the substantial increase in population in the area, the construction of a cycling lane, the modification of an existing traffic light, the extension of culverts, the modifications to drainage, the relocation of certain public services and lighting upgrades to meet standards.
We believe in our employee’s ability to help us create a world rooted in our values of continuous innovation, responsible management and sustainable development.
