The City of Laval’s real estate assets constitute a major project and include a few recent acquisitions in addition to buildings purchased or built over 50 years ago. A total of more than 160 buildings were visited during the project, 150 of which required upgrades. This involved the retrieval and conversion of older records, as well as follow-up visits to each of the targeted buildings in order to ensure that existing cladding did not constitute a risk for the health of users.
The team’s efficiency enabled them to complete the project within 5 months, even though the City of Laval had spread the project out over a full year. Among other things, the use of the data collection software Airsite, which generates siting plans, accompanied by photos and field notes, contributed to the fast execution of the project, in addition to providing support during consultations with the client.
